On 5th of August 1941 was born very famous Brazilian jazz percussionist and singer Airto Moreira - famous also for his artistic contribution in work with Miles Davis, Weather Report, Return to Forever and so many other fellow musicians. Here is his great 1977 theme ''The Happy People'' - with luring atmosphere of carnival streets in Rio. Enjoy.

Mostly operatic composer, Antonio Cesti, was born on 5th of August 1623. He was the most celebrated Italian composer of his generation. Specially after the famous performance of his (more than 5 hours long!!!) opera ''Il pomo d'oro'' (''Golden apple''), written and performed in 1668 in Vienna during celebrations of wedding of Emperor Leopold I. Here is one, quite a short illustration from this gigantic Baroque work.

Guillaume Defay, one of the greatest composers of XV century music, was born on 5th of August 1397. From the period of his service in Savoy court here is ballad on a theme ''Se la face ay pale'' - which he later incorporated in missa of the same title. Enjoy.

Larry Knechtel, one of the finest (and humblest) members of session musicians LA representation The Wrecking Crew, keys, bass and guitar player and member of popular US band Bread (where he played bass parts, but also a solo guitar in ''Guitar man''), was born on 4th of August 1940. After tens of recordings for different performers in studio (Beach Boys, Monkees, Doors, The Mamas & The Papas...), Larry became real legend after recording the famous piano part for Paul Simon's top song ''Bridge over troubled water'' in 1970 - released by Simon & Gurfunkel.See this short video from his induction to a Musical Hall Of Fame. Just beautiful.
