When is Teacher Appreciation Day?
This will depend on your location so be sure to check with your school first.
In the United States, you'll be celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Day on the Tuesday of the first full week in May. This is also known as Teacher Appreciation Week.
World Teacher Day is held on the 5th of October globally, however, in Australia where I am, we tend to celebrate our amazing educators on the last Friday in October. This is because it is often school holidays at the start of the month!
Which got me curious about both days. Although very similar, these are two different celebrations.
World Teachers' Day is a more formal celebration recognising educators' roles and advocating for their rights and standards. Teacher Appreciation Day/Week is celebrating teachers' impact on our lives.
On top of the traditional days, you might also find that you're making gifts for teachers on other holidays. Think Christmas or even Valentine's Day and Easter. Perhaps it's your teacher's Birthday?!
No matter which occasion you're celebrating, your favourite educator will love any craft and the special sentiment that goes with it.
I also like to appreciate the additional support workers in my children's lives such as teacher's assistants, occupational therapists, speech therapists and the like. They all work so hard to help my children so they should be included too!
